As opposed to a federal program, Provincial Nominee Program, as the name suggests, is a provincial program and hence the province has to nominate you based on your education, skills, and experience. The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) facilitates the immigration of individuals who can make a positive contribution to the province’s economy and who intend to permanently settle in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Successful applicants may become permanent residents of Canada.
The Skilled Worker stream helps employers recruit foreign workers and recently graduated international students whose skills are needed in Nova Scotia. An employer can only hire foreign workers for positions they have been unable to fill with permanent residents or Canadian citizens. Must have a full-time job offer from a NL employer
The International Graduates in Demand stream is for recent international graduates whose skills and education match specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) job categories. This stream is currently open to workers in selected NOCs. Must have a full-time job offer from a NL employer
The Entrepreneur Stream is for experienced business owners or senior business managers who want to live in NL. They must start a new business or buy an existing business and must actively participate in the day-to-day management of the business. After operating the business for a year, the entrepreneur may be nominated for permanent resident status. Application to the stream is by invitation only.
Minimum investment of $200,000; minimum net worth of $600,000.
The International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream is for recent graduates of a NL university or a specific NL college. They must have already started or bought a NL business and operated it for at least a year. If they intend to settle in NL, the graduate may be nominated for permanent resident status. Application to the stream is by invitation only.
