What is Canadian Visitor Visa?

A visitor visa (also called a temporary resident visa) is an official counterfoil document issued by a visa office that is placed in a person’s passport. It shows that you meet the requirements needed to enter Canada and should not be confused with border-crossing cards like PR Cards or SAWP is for Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program which serve other purposes such as proof for traveling within one’s own country only!

    Yes, one can leave and come back to Canada multiple times as long as their visitor visa has not expired.

  • Whats the difference between single and multiple entry visa?

    A valid multiple entry visa lets you travel to Canada for up to six months at a time as many times as you want. It will be valid for up to 10 years or one month before your passport expires, whichever is shorter. One must arrive in Canada on or before the expiry date on your visa.

  • What are the limitations of visitor visa in Canada?

    Visitor visas, whether single entry or multiple entry, allow foreign nationals to legally stay in Canada for up to six months at a time. At the end of this period, your legal status will expire and you must leave Canada.

  • Can I work on visitor visa?

    Generally a work permit is required to work in Canada however you can carry out some business activities while on visitor visaas long as you do not directly enter the Canadian labor market. For example you can buy goods and services for a foreign busineses from Canadian businesses.

  • Can I apply to study in Canada while on visitor visa?

    Yes, you can do short courses of less then six months of duration. Also the school offering the course should not be a Designated Learning Institute.

  • Can one convert a visitor visa to a work permit in Canada?

    Yes, it is possible. Foreign visitors in Canada with valid job offers can now apply for work permits without having to leave, thanks to a temporary policy extension until February 28, 2025.
